Frequently asked questions
1) What is a Neuromodulator?
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin Cosmetic all belong to a class of drugs known as neuromodulators. They all originate from protein molecules knows as Botulinium Neurotoxin.
2) How does it work?
3) What to expect:
After the Neuromodulator is injected into the targeted muscle, the weakening effect gradually begins over 3-5 days and continues for 2 weeks. The effect usually last 3-4 months, at which time another treatment is required. After several treatments, the effects often begin to last longer - "repeated use is truly anti-aging!" As the treatment only relaxes the muscle beneath the line at the injection site, it has no effect on other elements of facial expression. It also has no effect on the sensory nerves, allowing for normal feeling in the treated areas.
6) What are the side effects?
Botox® Cosmetic has been used safely by millions for over 18 years. There is no permanent side effect known with Botox® Cosmetic therapy for facial wrinkles.
7) Is treatment with Neuromodulators painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injecting, the physician or nurse may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 15 minutes.
5) How long will it last?
On average results will last for 3-4 months.
4) How much will I need?
Each individual is different in their muscle strength and metabolism therefore longevity of results and dosing will differ from person to person.
